Franklin Academy Coach Terrie Gooch received a $1600 fitness grant from International Paper Foundation and Librarian Dena Bradford received $2000 literacy grant from International Paper Foundation. Congratulations to both of these educators.
The Franklin Academy Kids That Care Club collected over 7,000 can tabs to be donated to St. Jude to support and end childhood cancer. These students dedicated themselves to collecting as many can tabs as possible. We are so proud of them!
We had a wonderful turn out for our Thanksgiving meal that we share with out students’ families. It was a great time of getting together and sharing a meal. Thank you to our food staff. The meal was delicious!

Our first place winners of Franklin’s school reading fair went on to the district competition. We are very proud of these students. They worked hard and represented our school well. Our 1st grade winner also won at the district level and will go on to the regional competiion! Way to go Franklin!
Our students get hands on experience with ipads! The stduents are learning to scan QR codes to log in to educational websites and they are taking virtual fields trips!! How fun is that?
Parents and students participated in Franklin’s Math Night. Teachers had math activities prepared for the parents and students when they came to their room. Our 4th and 5th graders were taught that they can be fit and fabulous forever by eating right and exercising. This is a program sponsored by the Junior Auxillary. We thank them for taking the time to help teach our students that it is beneficial to stay fit and fabulous forever!
